Must-have Wordpress Plugins
While the debate about Wordpress rages on, one thing can be sure: Wordpress is the most used, modded, and flexible content management system out there.
I was surprised to hear that friend and published author Jace had not heard of the Instant Upgrade Plug-in, I decided to make a list of my favorite plug-ins for anyone who may stumble (get it) across this site. You’ll see other lists, but mine is based on my own need for simplicity and time management.
- Instant Upgrade. As you all know, there are frequent and often critical upgrades to Wordpress. This plugin does the heavy lifting for you.
- Lighter Admin Drop-Down Menus. I’ve used others, but this is the fastest.
- Wordpress Database Backups. I get a complete backup of my database emailed to me once a week.
- Dean’s Permalinks Migration. Like many bloggers, I started off with one permalink structure and then switched to another to improve my SEO. This plugin does it for you and updates your links in the process.
- Akismet. Keeps my inbox and comments minty fresh.
- Lightbox 2 for Wordpress. Makes adding full size and thumbnail images to your posts a snap.
Did I miss anything?
